Romance Books To Improve Your Sex Life

By: Andrew Scherer

Would you believe that every five seconds of every day another romance novel is taken off a store shelf or ordered online and purchased? An astounding number that was recently revealed by Newsweek magazine, along with the fact that this is a business that generates over one billion dollars each and every year in gross sales. That's a lot of books, and money!

They have become so popular that it's not uncommon now for marriage counsellors and sex therapists to recommend them to their clients, and patients. So what's the reasoning here? It's another surprising statistic and that is that studies have shown that people who read them tend to have better love lives. Quite simply, they enjoy better relationships with their partners and even have sex more often.

It's not hard to understand how they work to have this effect either. It's really quite simple. That is that is that people who spend time reading about "something" also tend to think about what they've read throughout the day. So people who read these types of books also tend to think and fantasize about romance, love and sex more often than people who don't. It all makes perfect sense.

So if this all new news that you can kick up the passion and turn up the heat in your relationship by reading one of these books, it's something that those who read them have known all along. In fact long before any of these revealing studies took place, readers were talking about the effects that they noticed in their own lives from reading them.

As one of the researchers involved in the studies put it, "it turns out that reading this type of materiel for women in particular can be a type of emotional foreplay". He also pointed out that in many instances actual physiological changes were noted in females as they read these novels. Hormone levels, and heart rates increased and even dopamine levels went up.

So if this all has piqued your curiosity and now you're thinking about checking one of these books out, it helps to know one thing in particular before you shop. That is that they're now written in a number of styles, including even vampire and gay story lines. So make sure to look into all of them, so you end up with the book genre that suits your particular tastes best.
